SHALOM F.A.Q

Q: What Is The Difference Between Shalom Sundays And Life Group?

A: There is a lower commitment, you can pick when you want to host. Unlike life groups, this is not an 8-week commitment. Also, the host may change but the group will stay the same.

Q: If I Already Have/Know A Group Of People I Want To Host On Shalom Sunday Will I Still Need To Share My Group To Go On The Website?

A: The ask is that you share with us that you will be hosting a home, but we will not make it public for others to see.

Q: Do I Need To Register To Be A Part Of The In-Person Shalom Experience?

A: Yes! We ask that you please register by clicking the link

Q: How Many People Will Be Allowed In One Home?

A: While you know the space of your home better than us, we ask that no more than 20 people are in a home at a time.

Q: Is There Accountability For How Long Someone Will Be Hosting A Home?

A: We are encouraging, but not forcing the host to commit for 3 months. We also encourage co-hosting with another couple or individual to create the opportunity to swap host homes throughout the months.

Q: What Does Shalom Sunday Look Like In Person?

A: If you attend Shalom Sunday in person you can expect a more intimate experience with a shorter worship set, brief teaching, and more time to have guided conversation at round tables led by a table host. There will be limited dream team participation on these Sundays versus our typical Sunday service experiences.

Q: I Want To Host A Home, But I'm Not Sure If I Am Equipped To Host?

A: Each person who signs up to host a home will attend a class on the guidelines for hosting a home as well as resources to assist in leading.

Q: If I Chose To Host, Will My Address Be Available To Everyone At Church?

A: No! All that will be displayed on our website is the general area in which you live (i.e. Richmond, Chesterfield, Petersburg, etc.) Your address will only be shared with the members of your home once you accept their request to join.

Q: This Is My First Time At The Life Church. Can I Still Attend?

A: We would love you too! Whether you join us at our Bryce Lane campus or sign up to join a home, we want you to be a part of our Shalom Sundays!

Q: Do I Have To Host At 9:00 Am Or 11:15 Am?

A: Not at all! We will be streaming our 4th Sunday experience throughout the day to allow the opportunity to meet when it is most convenient for everyone in the group.

Q: What Does Shalom Sunday Look Like From An Online Community Perspective?

A: Those who are watching online will be provided the same discussion guide given in person and at host homes along with a 20-minute video to help walk you through the questions. You can do this individually or in a group.
